Sara Prout.
I started wing
chun a few years ago, I wanted to do a form of self defence as I had
just come out of an abusive relationship, and my confidence and self
esteem were at an all time low. I saw the advert and was intrigued that
a woman had developed this system so I thought I would give it a go. I
went along to a class and for the first few times, I didn’t have
the confidence to go in so I just watch from the outside, at the time
there were no other women in the class, and I thought I would be the
odd one out and pushed to one side. But I found out the club had a very
friendly atmosphere and I was made very welcome, and over time my
confidence and self esteem has grown, and I feel more confident in
myself.
